The PDO thread lift stimulates collagen production. Besides lifting the surface of your skin immediately, the sutures stimulate collagen production. Threads that are fully absorbable are used for the lift. After the procedure, foreign objects will dissolve within nine months, so there is no need to worry about them remaining in your body.

Long-lasting results can be achieved with this procedure. The results of the treatment often last up to 18 months and will result in tight, rejuvenated skin. No invasive procedures are involved in the treatment. PDO thread lifts are much simpler and less invasive than traditional facelifts, which are surgical procedures. There is little to no downtime associated with PDO thread treatments.

Under normal circumstances, PDO threads do not require any time off, which makes them a great option.

It is imperative that only trained and certified specialists perform even nonsurgical procedures. The wrong hands could lead to disappointing results with a PDO thread lift. A qualified professional will be able to explain both the benefits and risks of the treatment while keeping the side effects as minimal as possible. Aftercare instructions and guidelines will be provided to ensure your healing is successful.

After undergoing a thread lift, you will usually be able to see results immediately. Swelling and bruising may occur at the treatment site in addition to mild pain and discomfort. There should be no lasting effects from this, as it is only temporary. If you want to preserve your skin and ensure proper healing, you should avoid strenuous exercise and physical activity for at least two weeks.

Make an appointment with Dr. Reitman at Glow today to learn more about our PDO Thread Lift procedure.

As opposed to surgical facelifts, PDO thread lifts require minimal tissue and skin removal. Sagging cheeks and jowls are gently lifted with medical-grade, absorbable threads during treatment. With this procedure, mild to moderate signs of aging can be addressed safely and effectively. As soon as the procedure is completed, busy individuals are able to resume their daily activities.

The PDO thread lift procedure results in beautiful and noticeable results. Having realistic expectations is important, however. A thread lift is designed to make minor adjustments to the face and muscles, while a facelift surgery tightens the face and muscles. During your consultation, one of our experts will assess your problems and determine if PDO thread lift can meet your expectations.

In addition to discouraging alcohol and tobacco use, you'll likely be told to avoid anything that could increase bleeding and bruises at least 5 days before your PDO thread lift procedure.

Depending on your surgeon, you may receive a different procedure. This is probably what it will look like in general:

The surgeon will apply alcohol to your face as you sit in a reclined chair. A local anesthetic will be injected under your skin with a needle.
By inserting a cannula into the small hole made by your surgeon's small incision, a device called a cannula can be applied.
The thread will be anchored into place and the cannula will be pulled out by your surgeon.
In the end, they will cut the thread and ensure that it is firmly attached.

It is much less risky for complications to arise from PDO thread lifts than from facelifts. Getting surgery from a trained professional reduces the risk of scarring, severe bruising, and bleeding.

It is estimated that 15 to 20 percent of procedures result in minor complications, but they are usually easy to fix. There are several potential complications:

- pain
- infection
- hair loss
- inflammation
- minor bruising
- snapping of threads
- salivary gland injury
- inflammationTrusted Source
- accumulation of blood (hematoma)
- dimpling (orange peel-like skin texture)
- visible sutures (especially in people with thin skin)

It is common to combine thread lifts with other anti-aging procedures, such as ultherapy or dermal fillers, since thread lifts are not as dramatic as facelift surgeries.

An off-the-shelf thread lift caused immediate improvement in skin sagging after the procedure, according to a 2019 study by Trusted Source. However, after six months, the results started to decline. After one year, no improvements were evident.

The results of a thread lift can last from a period of one year to nine years, according to a study published in Aesthetic Surgery Journal. It is common for younger people to experience results that last between three and four years. Most older people see benefits from skin resurfacing after one to two years.

Following a PDO thread lift, there is a minimal amount of recovery time. For the first 24 to 48 hours, you may experience swelling and bruising, but you can return to most of your normal activities.

To avoid accidentally dislodging the thread, try not to rub your face during the week following your procedure. In addition, you will likely be told not to purse your lips, smoke, or drink through a straw during the first few weeks of treatment.

Saunas, sleeping on your side, and intense exercise should also be avoided for 1 to 2 weeks.

You may be able to avoid rolling onto your face during the night by propping your head on a pillow.

Today, book a treatment with GLOW and get all the beauty treatments you could ever need.
